This is Lisa Goldrich. Lisa has been annually attending the Royal Winter Fair with her cattle for the past five years every November in Toronto. In this photo, Lisa is preparing one of her cows, Buttons, for an appearance competition. She is brushing and blow-drying this cow's hair in hopes that this cow will be able to win the appearance competition for her.
The appearance competition that Lisa had entered this cow in was judged by a panel of judges in-front of an audience. There was also an announcer for this competition to keep the audience up to date on what was going on in the competition. The announcer spoke out all the information in both French and English to satisfy the audience. The audience for this event was made up of both French and English-speaking Canadians as people from all over Canada come to Toronto for this fair. It was evident that all the farmers, contestants, and others attending the fair had a great time and will likely re-attend the fair in the future.
